Tie-breaker Formula
- Points
- Wins
- Goals for (most)
- Goals against (least)
If tie breaking formula does not result in a winner, the following additional steps will be used:
- Step 1: Head-to-Head Record. If two teams are tied, the team with the better head-to-head record in games played against each other during the regular season wins the tie-breaker.
- Step 2: Goal Differential (Games between tied teams). If three or more teams are tied, or if the head-to-head record in Step 1 results in a further tie (e.g., 1-1 split between two teams), the tie will be broken by calculating the goal differential exclusively in games played amongst the tied teams. The team with the highest positive goal differential wins.
- Step 3: Overall Goal Differential. If still tied after Step 2, the tie will be broken by calculating the overall goal differential for all regular season games. The team with the highest positive overall goal differential wins.
- Step 4: Goals For (Overall). If still tied after Step 3, the team with the most "Goals For" (GF) in all regular season games wins.
- Step 5: Least Penalty Minutes If still tied after Step 4, the team with the least penalty minutes in all regular season games wins.
- Step 6: Coin Toss. If all the above steps fail to break the tie, a coin toss will be conducted by the MMLL Commissioner (or designated representative) in the presence of team officials.
